Sustainable Food Production and Global Challenges

Seminar, 3 ECTS, Tuesdays, 17:00-18:30 in room E03.052

In 2015 the Member States of the United Nations adopted uno soon an Agenda for Sustainable Development heading for 2030. This Agenda provides a common blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet that counts for today and in the future. It is entered around 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that address a wide range of global challenges faced today and calls for action by all countries in a global partnership.

Requirements for the seminar:

  1. Everyone must be prepared for each seminar session. We will discuss the publications together and you need to be prepared to explain the biological background, the figures and the methods.
  2. We will record your participation in each session. Those who are regularly well prepared and actively participate can improve their grade for the report by 20%.
  3. At the end of the seminar you should write a 3-5 pages long assay about a topic assigned to you. Please follow these guidelines. The report will be marked according to this evaluation scheme.
